Why Choose Me?
Let’s face it – there are lots of people out there who can write.
We’re all tucked up at our desks across the country churning out content that people rather like reading. That amuse, entertain, and get results.
So why should you choose me over the next person?
Competitive prices and competence aside – there’s a very good reason to choose me:
I love my job!
There’s none of that ‘drag-myself-to-the-desk-with-unbearable-glumness-and-despair’ that I hear other people talk about.
You send me a project, and I jump into it with over-excited glee. I live it, breathe it, even sometimes dream it – which means your project gets all of my attention (in a possibly unhealthy, consuming, stalking-of-inanimate-objects type of way…) until it’s perfect.
And the best bit?
You don’t pay for that.
I call it ‘percolating’ – and once a project’s on my desk, I do it nearly 24 hours a day until it’s finished.
Not because my clients tend to crack the whip and set unreasonable deadlines….but just because I like it.
It can be done anytime, anywhere.
In the car. In the supermarket. In a clichéd writer’s “a-HA” moment in the shower!
Once a project is confirmed (sometimes even before then, in fact….), I’m thinking about it wherever I am until it’s finished. And it’s not just for you. Of course – I want you to be happy with my work. I want you to be ecstatic, in fact…and then tell all your friends about me!
But mostly I do it for myself.
I’m happiest when I have a writing project on my desk. Not because it pays the bills (though that helps) – but because I relish what I do.
Whatever the subject matter – I love finding the right words to represent it. It’s like a toy for me to play with. Like a writer’s form of tetris. And just like with tetris, I kind of get addicted to making all those pieces fit together just right.
(Combine that with an over-excited perfectionist who can’t sleep until she’s nailed something – and you have a very good reason to feel confident your project is in good hands.)
So if you want your project to be more than ‘good enough’ – if you want it to be imbued with a writer’s obsession for finding that perfect phrase – then give me a call to talk about getting started.
I guarantee I’ll be as excited about it as you are.
Seven Other Good Reasons to Outsource to Me
- Fixed price – you only pay for the specific project that you require help with – at a reasonable price agreed upon upfront
- Convenience – You don’t have to tie yourself or your staff up with tasks that they don’t like or don’t specialise in. Outsourcing to me is hassle-free – you just provide me with a brief, and you’ll have a top-quality product on your desk in the time-frame we agree on
- Understanding – in order to clearly explain your value to your customers, you need a writer who really sees what you’re worth to them. I take the time to understand your business AND your market
- Creativity – I can provide a creative and fresh perspective on your business and your message
- Excellence – I’m commited to delivering a successful product that improves the impact of your message
- Responsiveness – I know you’re busy and don’t have the time or budget to mess around – so my service is prompt, reliable and professional – always
- Value – I want you to be happy! I want you to keep using this service and to tell your friends about me. So I will work with you to make sure you are happy with my service, my product and my price
If You Want To Know More….
I have 12 years writing experience in various disciplines, including academic/ research articles, opinion articles, web content, professional letters, brochures, media releases, short stories, speeches and policies.
I completed my copywriting training in 2002 at The Australian School of Copywriting and have continued to update my copywriting skills through regular study – particularly around writing for the web.
In my previous life I worked in many different roles in the social work field, including: team leader; project manager; counselor; case manager and community development worker.
In these roles I gained experience developing and writing policies, managing projects, managing staff, and working closely with vulnerable clients from diverse backgrounds. But the most valuable experience I gained was the sheer necessity of developing great communication skills with people from all walks of life. It means I have a good grasp of how people respond to certain things and an ability to accurately assess their needs and desires – which is a very helpful skill when you’re writing to persuade, interest or motivate them to do something.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Criminology) and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Melbourne.
I have also completed a Certificate IV in Project Management at Swinburne University of Technology.
I am currently writing for, editing and publishing a high quality lifestyle magazine in the Macedon Ranges – Macedon Ranges Magazine (www.mrmagazine.com.au).
